Connect the Reed Switch to the Meter

Open the Pulse Counter Unit
- Open the device housing to access the internal terminals.

Connect the Reed Switch Wires to the “Pulse” Panel

Black wire (GND) → GND terminal

Red/Signal wire → IN1 terminal
(Use the green terminal block inside the unit)

Insert Batteries
- Insert 2x AA Lithium batteries for best performance.
- Match the + and – symbols correctly.

Close the Unit
- Carefully align the O-ring.
- Close the lid tightly to ensure it’s water-resistant.

Seal Cable Entry
- Use silicone or a glue gun to seal the pre-drilled hole where the cable exits.
- This protects against moisture.
- Ensure the pulse counter unit is installed in an upright position

Get the Relevant External ID
- For LoRa pulse counters used with mechanical meters:
- Locate the external ID sticker on the front of the unit.

Get the Litres Per Pulse configuration
- Get the Litres Per Pulse from the meters specification

Send the information to HYDRA
- Send the information below to the HYDRA support team on Whatsapp while you are on site to ensure that the unit has connected successfully.
- External ID
- Meter Name
- Litres Per Pulse
- Drop a pin of the meter’s location
- Do not leave the site until it has been confirmed that the unit has connected successfully to HYDRA.
