Quick Install Guide: Water Meter LoRa Pulse Counter (Reed Switch) to HYDRA

                                                     ***Connection flow from the water meter to a pulse counter to HYDRA***

Steps:

1. Connect the Reed Switch to the Meter

   

2. Open the Pulse Counter Unit

   • Open the device housing to access the internal terminals.

3. Connect the Reed Switch Wires to the “Pulse” Panel

   • Black wire (GND) → GND terminal

   • Red/Signal wire → IN1 terminal

     (Use the green terminal block inside the unit)

     

4. Insert Batteries

   • Insert 2x AA Lithium batteries for best performance.
   • Match the + and – symbols correctly.

5. Close the Unit

   • Carefully align the O-ring.
   • Close the lid tightly to ensure it’s water-resistant.

6. Seal Cable Entry

   • Use silicone or a glue gun to seal the pre-drilled hole where the cable exits.
   • This protects against moisture.
   • Ensure the pulse counter unit is installed in an upright position

   

7. Get the Relevant External ID

   • For LoRa pulse counters used with mechanical meters:
     • Locate the external ID sticker on the front of the unit.

   

8. Get the Litres Per Pulse configuration

   • Get the Litres Per Pulse from the meters specification

9. Send the information to HYDRA

   • Send the information below to the HYDRA support team on Whatsapp while you are on site to ensure that the unit has connected successfully.
     • External ID
     • Meter Name
     • Litres Per Pulse
     • Drop a pin of the meter’s location
   • Do not leave the site until it has been confirmed that the unit has connected successfully to HYDRA.
