Overview
HYDRA provides a comprehensive energy monitoring solution for businesses with insights on usage, demand, prediction and verification of billing, peak-detection an much more. HYDRA allows you to monitor bulk incoming electricity against specific sections in buildings or sites, such as laundries, kitchens, individual floors, etc.
HYDRA supports various energy meters, including but not limited to Elster, Honeywell, Eastron, Accuenergy, Schneider, and Kamstrup. Meters are equipped with an electrical modem/gateway that sends data either directly to HYDRA or to a third-party service that HYDRA integrates with.

Instead, we provide guidance on the necessary infrastructure, which your certified electrician can install. We recommend our preferred meters and modems, and if you already have smart meters, we can either replace their modems with our preferred ones or integrate with third-party cloud infrastructure to include your data in HYDRA.

Prerequisites
To utilize electricity monitoring with HYDRA, ensure the following infrastructure is in place. These steps should be coordinated with your certified electrician:
-
Certified Electricians:
- All installations must be carried out by certified electricians to ensure proper setup, calibration, and certification. Electricians will have to:
- Verify the placements of the meters
- Scope the installation CTs and do any calibrations and certifications needed
- Verify that HYDRA supports the make and model meter they want to install and optionally order the modems needed via [email protected]
- Connect up all modems needed
-
Smart Meters Installation:
- Equip your building with smart meters. Our current preferred models include:
- Elster/Honeywell A1140
- Accuenergy AcuRev 2000, AcuRev 1200, AcuRev 1300, AcuRev 131, Acuvim II, Acuvim L, Acuvim CL
- As a minimum, you will need one or more meters that can be added up to serve as your bulk incoming electricity monitoring for demand, consumption and billing verification and prediction.
- Add additional meters to monitor specific sections of your buildings e.g. per floor or operating area.
- Add meters to monitor your solar plant electricity generation, preferably independent from your solar solution/inverter.
- If you already have smart meters, you can replace their modems with our preferred ones (M2M electrical modems - see pricing below), or we can integrate your third-party/in-house cloud infrastructure. Please email [email protected] with the details of your current installation so we can advise you as needed.

Electrical Modems:
-
Use our preferred modems to ensure compatibility with HYDRA and quick activation. See pricing below.
-
Ensure your electrician installs the necessary modems.
